Capt Jessica V. Johnson

Captain Jessica V. Johnson enlisted in the Marine Corps on October 18th, 2004 from Fort Pierce, Florida. Capt Johnson graduated from MCRD Parris Island in January 2005, Marine Combat Training, Camp Lejeune in March 2005, and Personnel Administration School (MOS 0121), Camp Johnson in May 2005. She then reported to Headquarters Marine Corps, Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Quantico, VA in May 2005. Upon reenlisting in 2009, Capt Johnson executed a lateral move into the Intelligence Community, and attended the Intelligence Specialist Course (MOS 0231), at the Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Center (NMITC), in Dam Neck, VA in January 2009. 

Upon completion of the Intelligence Specialist Course she reported to Marine Aircraft Group 31 (MAG-31), in Beaufort, SC in April 2009. In June 2009, Capt Johnson was attached to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 115 (VMFA-115), where she served as the Intelligence Chief. During her time with VMFA-115, she deployed on a Western Pacific Unit Deployment (UDP) from September 2009 to February 2010, and participated in Cobra Gold and Ryukyu Warrior joint training exercises. In 2011, Capt Johnson returned to MAG-31 and volunteered for an Individual Augment (IA) Billet from May 2011 to November 2011 to Kabul, Afghanistan to serve as the Watch Officer for Regional Command Southwest (RC-SW) in the Current Operations Joint Intelligence Department (CJ-2).

Upon completion of her tour in Afghanistan, Capt Johnson reported to Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1 (MAWTS-1), MCAS Yuma, AZ in April 2012. During her time at MAWTS-1, Capt Johnson served as the Analysis Chief. In 2013, she was accepted to the FY-2014 MECEP, and attended Officer Candidate School from June 2014 to August 2014. In August 2014, she reported to Savannah State NROTC Unit, in Savannah, GA where she completed her BS in Psychology, at Armstrong State University and in December 2016 and promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Upon completion of her degree program, she reported to The Basic School (TBS) and graduated in July of 2018.

Upon completion of TBS, Capt Johnson attended the Basic Officer Qualification Course and received the MOS of 6002 in May of 2019. While assigned to MALS-13 Aviation Supply Department, Capt Johnson served as the Operations Management Division Officer in Charge.

Capt Johnson reported to MCRD Parris Island in June of 2022 and served as a series commander with Company K from June of 2021 to May 2022. Capt Johnson was selected to serve as the Company Commander for Company L from May of 2022 to March of 2023. She then assumed her current position as the Assistant Director of Drill Instructor school in April of 2023.

Capt Johnson’s personal decorations include the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with two bronze stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal 1 Gold star in lieu of 2nd award, and the Joint Service Commendation Medal.
