Parris Island welcomes newest Marines of Delta, Oscar Companies

Today's graduation ceremony was a landmark for the 434 new Marines of Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, and 114 new Marines of Oscar Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion.

 

Among the new Marines are these distinguished graduates:

  • Pfc. Layton Decker – Ladson, S.C. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1040

  • Pfc. Anthony Carothers – Bellefontaine, Ohio. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1041

  • Pfc. Henrique PereiraBorros – North Port, Fla. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1042

  • Pfc. Dylan Jolley-Little – Jeffersonville, Ind. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1044

  • Pfc. Jordan Angerett – Fairfield, Pa. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1045

  • Pfc. Percell Downes III – Clayton, N.J. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1046

  • Pfc. Damien Jones – Gettysburg, Pa. – High PFT/CFT, Platoon 1046

  • Pfc. Terence Keenan – Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – High Shooter, Platoon 1041

  • Pfc. Hannah Eckert – Plano, Texas. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 4020

  • Pfc. Ariane Gipson – Los Angeles, Calif. – Honor Graduate, High Shooter, Platoon 4021

  • Pfc. Kelley Lute – Hillsboro, Ore. – High PFT/CFT, Platoon 4021

     

Each new Marine persevered through 70 training days while passing each of the seven graduation requirements.

 

Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 19,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 12 weeks of rigorous, transformative training. Parris Island is home to entry-level enlisted training for approximately 49 percent of male recruits and 100 percent of female recruits in the Marine Corps.
