Parris Island welcomes newest Marines of Hotel, Papa Companies

Today's graduation ceremony was a landmark for the 246 new Marines of Hotel Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, and 88 new Marines of Papa Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion.

 

Among the new Marines are these distinguished graduates:

  • Pfc. Ryan Harder – Dorchester, S.C. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2048

  • Pfc. Sean Weg – Howell, N.J. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2049

  • Pfc. Jason Nguyen – Biloxi, Miss. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2050

  • Pfc. Karin Capote-McLean – Pittsburg, Pa. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2052

  • Pfc. Erik Boeve – Fairfield, Mich. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2053

  • Pfc. Hendrix Vernot – Elizabeth, N.J. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2054

  • Pvt. Hunter Zwiers – Zeeland, Mich. – High PFT/CFT, Platoon 2049

  • Pfc. Christopher Caspari – Gainesville, Ga. – High Shooter, Platoon 2053

  • Pfc. Ashley Auen – Linesville, Pa. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 4022

  • Pfc. Faith Green – Bakersfielf, Calif. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 4023

  • Pfc. Isabelle Renteria – Franklin, Wis. – High Shooter, Platoon 4023

  • Pfc. Jennifer Garcia – Louise, Texas – High PFT/CFT, Platoon 4023

     

Each new Marine persevered through 70 training days while passing each of the seven graduation requirements.

 

Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 19,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 12 weeks of rigorous, transformative training. Parris Island is home to entry-level enlisted training for approximately 49 percent of male recruits and 100 percent of female recruits in the Marine Corps.
