Colonel Charles C. Nash

Colonel Nash is a native of Fairfax, Virginia. He commissioned in 2003 upon graduation from the United States Naval Academy. Following completion of both the Basic Officer Course and Infantry Officer Course, he reported to 2d Battalion, 8th Marines, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. As a rifle platoon commander, he deployed in support of the Global War on Terror and Operation Iraqi Freedom as part of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit . As a rifle company executive officer, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following a brief assignment as the battalion's assistant operations officer, Colonel Nash also deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), where he served in the G-3 as the Assistant Ground Operations Officer. In 2007, Colonel Nash reported to The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia. While at The Basic School, he served as a warfighting instructor, Basic Officer Course staff platoon commander, Basic Officer Course company executive officer, and Infantry Officer Course instructor. Following his tour in Quantico, he attended the Army's Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. In 2011, Colonel Nash reported to 2d Battalion, 6th Marines, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, for duty as the Weapons Company Commander. While with 2d Battalion, 6th Marines, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Following the deployment, he was reassigned to 3d Battalion, 2d Marines. He deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit as the Battalion Landing Team 3/2 Operations Officer. From 2014 to 2017, Colonel Nash served as the Commanding Officer, Recruiting Station Columbia, South Carolina. Following successful completion of this tour, he reported to Marine Corps University in Quantico, Virginia, where he graduated from both the Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the School of Advanced Warfighting. In 2019, Colonel Nash reported to 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade where he served as the Future Operations Officer. In 2020, he was reassigned to the II Marine Expeditionary Force G-5, where he served as a regional plans officer until returning to 2d Marine Division. Colonel Nash commanded 3d Battalion, 2d Marines, from December 2020 until December 2022, successfully deploying 3/2 as Forward Deployed Battalion - East to Okinawa, Japan. Following command, Colonel Nash reported again to the II Marine Expeditionary Force G-5, which subsequently redesignated as the G-5/9. Here, he served as the Strategy and Concepts Officer and Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff. In 2024, Colonel Nash reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island/Eastern Recruiting Region for duty as the Command Inspector General and subsequently as the Assistant Chief of Staff G-3, Operations and Training. In June 2026, Colonel Nash assumed command of Weapons and Field Training Battalion, MCRD Parris Island. Colonel Nash holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Military Studies from Marine Corps University, a Master of Operational Studies from Marine Corps University, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
