Sergeant Major Wilson was born and raised in Mayesville, South Carolina. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in November 1999 and
attended boot camp at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduation of boot camp, he reported to Camp Lejeune, North
Carolina where he attended his Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) School earning the MOS 0151 an Administrative Clerk. His first
assignment was to I Marine Expeditionary Headquarters Group (S-1) Camp Pendleton, California. During his time at I MHG, he was
promoted to the rank of Corporal.
In July 2000, after a successful tour at I MHG, he transferred to 1st Force Service Support Group (1ST FSSG) (G-1 Manpower). While
at G-1, he worked as the manpower Non-Commissioned officer. He was hand selected to go Temporary Assigned Duty (TAD) to I
Marine Expeditionary Force to serve as an administrative clerk to the Commanding General, Chief of Staff and Staff Secretary (SSEC).
While assigned to I MEF, he deployed in support of Iraqi Freedom.
March 2005, Sergeant Wilson received orders to MARDET Postal School Columbia, South Carolina. He served at the school as the
Administrative Chief and Platoon Sergeant for all the Marine personnel.
October 2008, Sergeant received orders to Drill Instructor School 1-09. While in school, he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Upon completion of Drill Instructor School, he was assigned to 3rd Recruit Training Battalion Lima Company where he served 2 cycles
as a Drill Instructor and 2 cycles as an Experience Drill Instructor (EDI). Staff Sergeant Wilson then transferred to India Company 3rd
Battalion where he served 3 cycles as a Senior Drill Instructor. He then transferred to Support Training Company (STC) were he served
his last 6 months as the Academic Chief at Instructional Training Company (ITC) and Company Gunnery Sergeant.
December of 2011, Staff Sergeant Wilson received orders to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion as the Administrative Chief. When he
joined 1st CEB in January 2012 he participated in exercise Enhanced Mojave Viper in 29 Palms with a follow-on deployment to
Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 12.1 and 12.2. In January 2013 he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.
March 2015, Gunnery Sergeant Wilson was selected to serve as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor at the Auburn-Tuskegee
Consortium. While on AMOI duty, Gunnery Sergeant Wilson was selected as the 2016 AMOI of the year. He also completed three
Summer Cycles at Officer Candidate School in which he was selected as the Instructor of the Cycle of summer 2016. December 2016,
Gunnery Sergeant Wilson was selected to the rank of First Sergeant
June 2017, First Sergeant Wilson received orders to 2D Battalion 10th Marines Regiment where he served as Golf Battery First
Sergeant. While with Battery G he deployed with BLT, 1st Battalion, 2d Marines, 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit from December 2018 to
July 2019. While on deployment, Battery G deployed ISO Operation Inherent Resolve in an undisclosed location in Syria. In February
2020 First Sergeant Wilson deployed to Norway ISO of Operation Cold Response 1-20. In June 2020 First Sergeant Wilson went out
with Battery G ISO Task Force Commitment in Charleston, South Carolina. Upon returning he reported to Marine Corps Engineer
School September 2020 where he served as the Headquarters and Service Company First Sergeant. He was selected to his current
rank in November 2020.
June 2021, Sergeant Major Wilson received orders to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron-28 (MTAC-28). While with MTACS-28 he deployed to Norway ISO Operation Cold Response 1-22.
June 2022, Sergeant Major Wilson received orders to serve as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 29 (MALS-29 aboard New River, North Carolina.
March 2024, Sergeant Major Wilson received orders to serve as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Support Battalion, MCRD, San Diego, CA.
June 2025, Sergeant Major Wilson assumed the duties and responsibilities to serve as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C.
Sergeant Major Wilson's decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal in Lieu of third award, The Navy and Marine Corps
Commendation Medal in Lieu of second award, The Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal in lieu 3rd award and numerous
campaign and unit awards.
