Today's graduation ceremony was a landmark for the 448 new Marines of Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, and the 132 new Marines of November Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion.

Among the new Marines are these distinguished graduates:

• Pfc. Aren Koeber – Mountain Lakes, N.J. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2009

• Pfc. Jose Rivera – West Palm Beach, Fla. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2010

• Pfc. Stayce Whipple II – Adams, Tenn. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2012

• Pfc. Peter Moscone – Haverhill, Mass. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2013

• Pfc. Graham Seuffert – Wilmington, Del. – Honor Graduate, High PFT/CFT, Platoon 2014

• Pfc. Kimberly Olarte – Cary, N.C. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 4004

• Pfc. Lauren Morales – Nanuet, N.Y. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 4005

• Pvt. Jennifer Lasalle– Manchester, N.H. – High Shooter, Platoon 4005

• Pfc. Jorge Tarrioorozco – Tampa, Fla. – High Shooter, Platoon 2010

• Pvt. Brooke Battiste – Daphne, Ala. – High PFT/CFT, Platoon 4005

   

Each new Marine persevered through 70 training days while passing each of the seven graduation requirements.

Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 19,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 12 weeks of rigorous, transformative training. Parris Island is home to entry– level enlisted training for approximately 49 percent of male recruits and 100 percent of female recruits in the Marine Corps.
