Parris Island welcomes newest Marines of Charlie Company

Today's graduation ceremony was a landmark for the 218 new Marines of Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion.

 

Among the new Marines are these distinguished graduates:

  • Pfc. Hunter Wolfe – Elkton, Fla. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1032

  • Pfc. Logan Daugherty – Dallas, Ga. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1033

  • Pfc. Walter Dukes – Valley, Ala. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1034

  • Pfc. Kyle Musser – Mountville, Pa. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1036

  • Pfc. Alvin Harewood Jr. – Stafford, Va. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1037

  • Pfc. Christyan Wells – Greensburg, La. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1038

  • Pfc. Colby Candage – Bar Harbor, Maine – High PFT/CFT, Platoon 1038

  • Pfc. Erik Foster – Yatesville, Ga. – High Shooter, Platoon 1038

     

Each new Marine persevered through 70 training days while passing each of the seven graduation requirements.

 

Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 19,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 12 weeks of rigorous, transformative training. Parris Island is home to entry-level enlisted training for approximately 49 percent of male recruits and 100 percent of female recruits in the Marine Corps.
