Parris Island welcomes newest Marines of Echo, November Companies

Today's graduation ceremony was a landmark for the 311 new Marines of Echo Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, and 118 new Marines of November Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion.

Among the new Marines are these distinguished graduates: 

  • Pfc. Sean Reen – Edmond, Okla. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2057 
  • Pfc. Steven Springer – Roselle Park, N.J. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2058 
  •  Pfc. Zachary Snead – Felton, Del. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2060 
  • Pfc. Evan Morris – Springfield, Ky. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2061 
  • Pfc. William Horlacher – Jonesville, S.C. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 2062 
  • Pfc. Jason Dombrosky – Limerick, P.A. – High PFT/CFT, Platoon 2058 
  • Pvt. Deiontay Brown – Cleveland, Ohio – High Shooter, Platoon 2056 
  • Pfc. Marissa Waters – Sterling, Neb. – Honor Graduate / High PFT/CFT Platoon 4026 
  • Pfc. Chelsy Elvestad – Casper, Wyo. – Honor Graduate Platoon 4027 

Each new Marine persevered through 70 training days while passing each of the seven graduation requirements. Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 19,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 12 weeks of rigorous, transformative training. Parris Island is home to entry-level enlisted training for approximately 49 percent of male recruits and 100 percent of female recruits in the Marine Corps.
