MCRD Parris Island, S.C. -- Today's graduation ceremony was a landmark for the 299 new Marines of India Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, and 114 new Marines of Oscar Company.
Among the new Marines are these distinguished graduates:

• Pfc. Elijah Miller – Columbus, Ohio – Honor Graduate, Platoon 3057
• Pfc. Stefano Postiglione – Sussex, N.J. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 3058
• Pfc. Bailey Gordon – Louisville, Ky. – Honor Graduate, High PFT/CFT, Platoon 3060
• Pfc. Nicholas Perkins – Richmond, Va. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 3061
• Pvt. Justin Bloom – Webberville, Mich. – High Shooter, Platoon 3061
• Pfc. Sharidon Mafnas – Pembroke, Ga. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 4028
• Pfc. Anna George – Richland, Wash. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 4029
• Pvt. Ann Bowcut – Salt Lake City, Utah – High Shooter, Platoon 4029
• Pfc. Amanda Martinez – Espanola, N.M. – High PFT/CFT, Platoon 4028
Each new Marine persevered through 70 training days while passing each of the seven graduation requirements.
Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 19,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 12 weeks of rigorous, transformative training. Parris Island is home to entry-level enlisted training for approximately 49 percent of male recruits and 100 percent of female recruits in the Marine Corps.
