Parris Island Welcomes newest Marines of Bravo, Papa companies

Today's graduation ceremony was a landmark for the 287 new Marines of Bravo Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, and 126 new Marines of Papa Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion.

 

Among the new Marines are these distinguished graduates:

  • Pfc. Corey Atkins – Interlachen, Fla. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1056

  • Pfc. Patrick Godfrey – Cumberland, Md. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1057

  • Pfc. Jake Brandimarte – Seaford, N.Y. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1058

  • Pfc. Nicholas George – Jackson, N.J. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1060

  • Pfc. Mason Goddard – Valley Lee, Md. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1061

  • Pfc. Daniel Gregory – Swansea, S.C. – Honor Graduate, Platoon 1062

  • Pfc. Judson Sorrells – Cedartown, Ga. – High PFT/CFT, Platoon 1056

  • Pfc. Jose RodriguezCasimiro– Gastonia, N.C. – High Shooter, Platoon 1056

  • Pfc. Catherine Vogel – Colton, S.D. – Honor Graduate, High PFT/CFT, Platoon 4030

Each new Marine persevered through 70 training days while passing each of the seven graduation requirements.

 

Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 19,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 12 weeks of rigorous, transformative training. Parris Island is home to entry-level enlisted training for approximately 49 percent of male recruits and 100 percent of female recruits in the Marine Corps.
