Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C. -- PWD, in conjunction with our partners, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) and Ameresco, will conduct a series of depot wide power outages between Wed-Sat, 19-22 August 2020 in order to test the Depot’s power resiliency and reliability as we approach the peak hurricane season.
This week’s scheduled Depot Wide Power Outages:
19-20 August from Wednesday and Thursday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. – and Friday 21 August from 1030-1300. We project multiple small outages plus a chance of one 30-40 minute outage during these periods.
22 August Saturday 9 a.m. -12 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.: project multiple small outages plus one outage 45 minutes to an hour in morning and afternoon
The following buildings will have back-up generators to ensure no loss or minimum loss of power:
Bldg 281 - AWTF
Bldg 407 – Commissary
Bldg 6011 – Recruit Training Facility
Bldg 6012- Consolidated Chow Hall
Bldg 674 – Dental (NHB will provide)
Bldg Facilities with auto-start: front gate, bldgs. 286 (EOC), 455 (Fire/Rescue), 1050 (G6), 295 (G6), 504 (CDC), 6001 (Depot Cloth).
Be advised, if generators do not have auto-start switch, a temporary outage will occur as power is switched over to generator and again, once power is restored.
