On September 26, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island will be conducting a full-scale emergency exercise to access the depot’s emergency response protocols. The exercise will be conducted during normal working hours and will simulate a mass causality event at Peatross Parade Field. Select depot personnel will serve as role players during the exercise which is essential to the realism of the exercise and its objectives.
Personnel and visitors can expect some degree of interruption to normal operations as security measures are increased and as response agencies are deployed in support of the exercise.
The Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island Emergency Services Dispatch is not a participant in the exercise and will operate as normal during the conduct of the exercise. Should an actual emergency occur on the base during the exercise, personnel and visitors can still contact 911 and first responding agencies will respond as appropriate.
