In order to manage the Depot's timber assets, wildlife habitat, recruit training areas, and reduce wildfire potential, the Environmental Division with Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) monitoring, plans to conduct a controlled burn on the west side of Page Field at 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov 2, 2024, if weather conditions remain favorable.  The South Carolina Forestry Commission has provided a favorable Category for burning conditions for this area during this period.

Although considered a small burn, this event has the potential to produce volumes of smoke that may diminish visibility.  All Depot personnel are advised to use caution when driving in the vicinity of Page Field and Yorktown Blvd.
