PARRIS ISLAND, S. C. -- Brig. Gen. Austin E. Renforth, commanding general, MCRD Parris Island and Eastern Recruiting Region, in accordance with Governor Nikki Haley’s direction, has authorized the return of all non-essential Department of Defense personnel and their families.
After Hurricane Matthew, assessments have been ongoing aboard Parris Island to reestablish utilities and repair facilities to ensure conditions are deemed ready for personnel to return.
Temporary Additional Duty authorization due to evacuation from Hurricane Matthew will be terminated at 2359 on Oct 11 (unless otherwise authorized, no hotel will be reimbursed by the government after the night of Oct 10).
All personnel are expected to return to work in support of normal operations no later than Wednesday, Oct 12. For specific information related to individual sections aboard the base we ask personnel to please contact their immediate supervisor for further instructions.
Exceptions for TAD authorization affecting individuals returning to residences with limited or no utilities will be made at the discretion of 06 commanders.
