General Reminders

  • While traveling, you are a representative of the Marine Corps. Conduct yourself professionally.
  • Always have your Military ID (CAC) on you and readily available

Items to have in your orders bag:

  1. Orders
  2. Itinerary
  3. Printed Flight Ticket

Carry-on items, (Do not  check these with your bags)

  1. Garment bag with service uniforms
  2. Personal items

Your next unit and location are listed in your Graduation Orders.

The report date and time are in paragraph 1 of your Graduation Orders.

No. If issued a flight ticket you must use it.  Personal vehicles are not allowed at School of Infantry (SOI), and Marine Combat Training (MCT), or most follow-on MOS schools.

  • Call SATO Travel: (866) 928-1420 to rebook

  • Notify your next duty assignment at the number on your Graduation Orders.

Contact the Recruit Administration Branch (RAB) at (843)-228-2674 for a copy.

Go to the nearest DEERS/RAPIDs location (find one at https://idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco/) with two forms of ID to get a replacement. If unavailable, use an alternate form of ID and replace it upon arrival at your next duty assignment.

  • Contact your future command first via the phone number listed on your Graduation Orders and notify the command of the situation. 

  • Then contact the Recruit Administration Branch (RAB) to see if your leave or PRASP can be modified.

Notify your command at the number on your Graduation Orders. A Red Cross message may be required.

Pay and allowances are issued on the 1st and 15th of each month while on active duty.

Bring marriage certificates and birth certificates to your next duty station and notify administrative personnel.

Travel reimbursement for new Marines is limited to the government cost between duty locations (i.e. MCRD PISC to SOI).  This will be processed upon your arrival to your first permanent duty station during the check in process.  Flight Tickets/etc. to/from leave locations are not reimbursable directly.

  • Air Travel: Go to the nearest USO in the airport.

  • Other Travel: Call SOI at the number on your Graduation Orders.

Log onto and create a Marine Online account at mol.usmc.mil and follow the steps listed under RED Updates to change beneficiary information, keep in mind some information can only be changed with the help of your administrative personnel at your next duty assignment.

Yes, log onto Marine Online at https://mol.tfs.usmc.mil/mol/ and create and account then follow the steps to update your Personal Contact Information.  This helps your follow-on assignment unit personnel in the event they need to contact you for any reason.

Retain all original orders, travel itineraries, and receipts. Scan or take photos as a backup.

No, the address on your PRASP Orders is to the Recruiting Station. You will report to the Recruiting Sub-Station you were recruited out of.

No, “2359” is the no later than time. If you are reporting beyond this time due to unforeseen circumstances, contact SOI to notify them.

Visit www.mypay.dfas.mil to establish your MyPay account, here you can view all financial documents related to your service including your Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), W-2 Tax information and to establish allotments.  This is also the resource for managing your Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).

Visit www.milconnect-pki.dmdc.osd.mil to create a milConnect account, here you can view pertinent military and family member information including Tricare information and manage your SGLI.
