Douglas Visitors' Center

Visitors to Parris Island should check in at the Douglas Visitors' Center (DVC) before going anywhere else on the Depot.

The Marines can give you a map of key locations around the Depot and let you know the best places to see during your visit.

The DVC operates throughout the work week and opens early on graduation and family days.

The DVC is located on the left side of Boulevard de France just past the “We Make Marines” sign.

The Douglas Visitors’ Center is named in honor of Paul H. Douglas, who, in 1942 at the age of 50, was the oldest Marine recruit to have completed recruit training.

After attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel in 1946, he left the Marine Corps and went on to become a U.S. Senator in Illinois.

The DVC can be contacted at 843-228-3650 or 843-228-3297.
